<p><span style="color: #000000;">I cannot even begin to tell you how much junk email I receive. It makes me tremble every time I open my inbox. So believe me, when I get a sample offer from a truly natural skin care company it is a welcome refresher.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">But when a really good company contacts me, backs up their claims and then sends me samples that actually DELIVER on their promises – well that makes my day. And it makes me feel that by spreading the word about them I am actually doing something meaningful.</span><span id="more-4375"></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">So, this is my review of Pai chamomile and rosehip sensitive skin cream. Yes, it’s a positive review. They deserve it.</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;">It is a moisturizer for sensitive skin.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Price:</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">As of today the price on the company’s site is at $31.00 US, $39.90 CAD and GB £22.00</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Packaging:</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">The cream comes in a glass bottle inside a recyclable box.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Reading the ingredients:</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">70% of the ingredients are organic. None of the ingredients look suspicious or unnatural. In fact the product is so pure that I was instructed to keep it in the refrigerator (which I promptly did – probably why it feels even fresher when I put it on).</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Another nice thing about Pai is that they list all their ingredients in plain English. On the box every ingredient has the standard latin based name and the English explanation of it. For example, “butyrospermum parkii butter – shea butter”. Very convenient. Cause latin and me never really got along too well…</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Other Claims:</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Pai is certified by the Soil Association, one of the strictest and most reliable organic certifying bodies.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">As a refresher, here is some information about the Soil Association’s standards:</span></p>
<ul>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">At least 70% of a beauty product’s non-water ingredients must be organic.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">These organic ingredients must be sustainably grown and harvested and extracted in an eco-friendly manner.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">Products cannot contain parabens, petrochemicals, propylene glycol and other potentially toxic chemicals.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">All non-organic ingredients have to pass strict toxicity and biodegradability criteria and carry a Non-GM certificate.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">Manufacturers have to pass annual inspections and must keep meticulous organic production records.</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">And just to drive the point further, Pai products contain:</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;">And they are <strong>not </strong>tested on animals</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Phew…</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Scent:</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Very pleasant gentle scent. Reminds me of spring flowers without overwhelming the senses.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Texture:</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">It is a very light cream, extremely smooth with silky feeling.</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;">You know that commercial where the mouth sings from excitement caused by a drink? Well, my mouth never sang from a drink, but my skin sure sings praises to Pai. It sings: “thank you for making me moist, and soft, and baby-like. Thank you for making me smooth and gorgeous”.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">I mean it. My face loves it. One time I had to apply the cream after being exposed for too long to a heating unit. I was flushed and dry and terrified, because usually creams in this situation sting like hell. But Pai was a real exception. I felt soothed and cooled down and ready to mimic right away. (Believe me, if you have a really dry sensitive face, you know the joy of being able to have facial expressions without pain…)</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>About the brand:</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><a href="http://www.paiskincare.com/"><span style="color: #000000;">Pai </span></a>is the new kid on the block. It has only been around since January of 2007. The founder, Sarah Brown, was inspired to create her own line after developing a bad skin allergy to everyday skincare products.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">The name of the brand, Pai, means “goodness” in Maori, a name that Sarah chose because of her mother’s New Zealand’s roots, and because many of the ingredients in Pai have been used by Maoris for centuries in order to heal and protect the skin.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Since its inception Pai has received much favorable press, especially in the UK. It was featured in Marie Claire and Daily Express to name a few.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Verdict:</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">This is a fantastic product by a company that lives up to what the organic movement is all about. Huge thumbs up and congratulations to Sarah Brown for developing a product that truly delivers.</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;">You may have started hearing in the news about some of the <strong>hidden chemicals</strong> that might be lurking in your canned foods and bottled water and other drinks.  Some of them are known as xenoestrogens, which have the potential to cause serious health problems over time, as well as increase abdominal fat from the estrogenic effect.</span><br />

<span style="color: #000000;"> <a href="http://www.dietingdetails.com/truthaboutabstrialoffer" target="_blank"><img class="alignright" title="Does Canned Food and Bottled Water Increase Your Abdominal Fat Through Hidden Chemicals?" src="http://www.thedailygreen.com/cm/thedailygreen/images/T0/can-opener-TP-lg.jpg" alt="Does Canned Food and Bottled Water Increase Your Abdominal Fat Through Hidden Chemicals?" width="276" height="216" /></a>Today, I want to share with you some important details about one of the MOST problematic chemicals that you&#8217;re being exposed to specifically from canned foods and bottled drinks, etc&#8230;</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>It&#8217;s called <em>Bisphenol A (BPA).</em></strong></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">BPA can be found as a component of some types of plastic bottles, and also in the lining inside of canned foods.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Since BPA is a known &#8221;xenoestrogen&#8221;, it&#8217;s been linked in animal studies (at surprisingly small doses) to all sorts of various health issues such as cancer, metabolic disorders, heart disease, diabetes, and fertility problems and birth defects or miscarriages&#8230; and of course, any xenoestrogens in large enough amounts can trigger your body to hold onto abdominal fat (<strong>aka &#8211; stubborn belly fat</strong>).</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">The major offenders to look for are polycarbonate bottles (some plastics with the #7 symbol on the bottom are polycarbonate, but not all) and also canned foods, since the lining of most canned foods contains BPA, which can leach into food.  The longer that a can of food sits on a shelf and the higher the temperature, the more BPA can leach into your food. The same can be said for polycarbonate bottles that contain food or drinks.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">According to the <em>Environmental Working Group (EWG)</em>, BPA was detected in the bodies of 95% of Americans in one CDC study (this is a worldwide issue though, not just limited to the US).  This is nothing to shrug off either&#8230; look at this scary finding&#8230;</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">The Environmental Working Group reports, &#8220;<em>analysis of our tests reveals that for one of every five cans tested, and for one-third of all vegetables and pastas (ravioli and noodles with tomato sauce), a single serving would expose a pregnant woman to BPA at levels that fall within a factor of 5 of doses linked to birth defects — permanent damage of developing male reproductive organs</em>&#8220;.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>If that didn&#8217;t get your attention, how about this&#8230; </strong></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">The EWG also reports evidence of&#8230; &#8220;<em>An investigation demonstrating that low doses of BPA spur both the <strong>formation and growth of fat cells</strong>, the two factors that drive obesity in humans (Masumo et al. 2002).</em>&#8220;</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">This is not surprising, since as I mentioned at the beginning of this article, BPA is a known xenoestrogen, and any xenoestrogens can contribute to what&#8217;s been referred to as &#8220;stubborn abdominal fat&#8221; as well as cancer and other health problems.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">It&#8217;s also important to note that any<strong> canned tomato products (canned ravioli, pastas, canned tomato pastes, tomato sauces, etc)</strong> are some of the biggest offenders with the highest BPA concentrations due to the acidic nature of tomatoes, which leaches more of the BPA.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>So what steps can you take to minimize your exposure to BPA and it&#8217;s negative effects on bodyfat and other health risks?</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>1.</strong> Try to always avoid canned foods as much as possible and choose <strong>frozen or fresh foods</strong> instead.  Buy the ingredients yourself and prepare the meal the old fashioned way instead of resorting to canned foods.  Also, a better alternative to canned foods is products in glass containers.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>2.</strong>  If you do resort to using canned foods instead of fresh foods, try to find labels that say that the cans are free of BPA.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>3.</strong>  If you need tomato products, always avoid canned varieties and search for tomato sauces, pastes, etc in glass bottles instead (unless the can specifically states that it is BPA-free).  Or just make your own tomato dishes from scratch with fresh tomatoes.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>4.</strong>  If you use plastic wrap, plastic ziplock bags, plastic containers for food storage, etc, try to investigate on the label if the product is BPA-free or not.  Some brands packaging will label if their products are BPA-free.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>5.</strong>  If you for some reason choose to use a microwave with your food (which by the way, microwaved food is thought to have negative health effects), then by all means, do not microwave the food in plastic containers as it can increase the leaching of chemicals including BPA.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>6.</strong>  If you drink bottled water, or water from reusable plastic bottles, make sure that it is not a polycarbonate bottle, or make sure that the label says BPA-free. Plastic that shows #7 on the bottom will sometimes contain BPA, but not always.  If a bottle shows &#8220;PC&#8221; on the bottom, it is made from polycarbonate, so it will contain BPA.  In addition, sometimes aluminum bottles will contain a lining that has BPA, so avoid these.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong> 7.</strong>  Avoid soda cans, as the EWG states analysis showed that 42% of soda cans contained BPA.  Of course, if you care about your health and your body, I&#8217;m sure you never drink soda anyway &#8211; it&#8217;s pure evil for your body&#8230; and yes, that includes unhealthy diet soda too, with it&#8217;s dangerous artificial sweeteners.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>8.</strong>  Never use plastic cups for hot liquids such as hot tea or coffee, as this can accelerate leaching of BPA and other chemicals, depending on the type of plastic.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>9.</strong>  As much as you can try to avoid BPA and other xenoestrogens, you will most likely still be exposed to some levels of xenoestrogens from various chemicals in your foods (from pesticide/herbicide residues, packaging chemicals, etc), chemicals in your water supply, chemicals from cosmetics, lotions, etc.</span></p>

So how do you tell a genuine weight loss program from the online equivalent of a shady guy selling stereos from his beat up van? You look for reviews to help you decide what to buy and what to avoid.</span></p>

The book was written by Tom Venuto, who is a natural body builder. (A natural body builder, for those not in the know, is a body builder who does not use steroids or other drugs to develop muscles.) Tom Venuto, by the way, is not just a body builder. He earned a bachelor of science degree in Adult Health and Fitness, or Exercise Science. In addition to body building, he has directed numerous fitness and gym centers around the United States and makes frequent guest appearances.</span></p>

That&#8217;s always a plus with any eBook or internet based program, because when you know who actually developed the program and wrote the book, it&#8217;s a much safer bet it&#8217;s on the more legitimate side.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">The program itself is different from other weight loss programs because it&#8217;s not just based on appearance, but actual athletic wellness. Burn the Fat focuses on losing fat AND increasing your muscle tone at the same time. Instead of aiming to turn your body into a thin but out of shape figure with no muscle tone, the Burn the Fat program aims to make you lose weight and build muscle to keep your body looking toned and athletic. Now, maybe you&#8217;re not interested in building up your muscle &#8211; that&#8217;s your decision. But why pass up a program which actually wants to give you an athletic, fit and healthy body? Let&#8217;s look a little more at the specifics of the program to see what else it has to offer.</span></p>

<span style="color: #000000;"><strong>2.</strong> Almost all store-bought salad dressings contain heavily refined soybean oil and/or refined canola oil&#8230; both of which are VERY unhealthy. Yes, that&#8217;s correct, canola oil IS unhealthy, despite the marketing propaganda you&#8217;ve been fed claiming that it&#8217;s healthy.  </span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Due to the refining process of both soybean or canola oils, the polyunsaturated component of the oils is oxidized and makes these oils very inflammatory inside your body.  In addition, soybean oil is WAY too high in omega-6 fatty acids which throws your omega-6 to omega-3 balance out of whack.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">We know that olive oil is healthier, but when it comes to store-bought dressings&#8230; Even salad dressings that claim to be &#8220;made with olive oil&#8221; on the FRONT label are <strong>deceptive, </strong>because if you read the ingredients on the BACK label, they are almost ALWAYS made of mostly refined soybean oil or canola oil as the main oil, with only a very small amount of actual olive oil as a secondary oil.</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Geary&#8217;s Healthy-Fat Blend Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Fill your salad dressing container with these approximate ratios of liquids:</span></p>
<ul>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">1/3rd of container filled with balsamic vinegar</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">1/3rd of container filled with apple cider vinegar</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">fill the remaining 1/3rd of container with equal parts of extra virgin olive oil and &#8220;Udo&#8217;s Choice EFA Oil Blend&#8221;</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">Add just a small touch (approx 1 or 2 teaspoons) of real maple syrup</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">Add a little bit of onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper and then shake the container to mix all ingredients well.</span></li>

<p><span style="color: #000000;">This homemade salad dressing mixture is <strong>delicious and healthy</strong>, and I pretty much never get tired of it!</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">The reason I choose to blend the extra virgin olive oil half &amp; half with the Udo&#8217;s Choice Oil is that they make up for what each lacks&#8230; Although extra virgin olive oil is healthy and contains important antioxidants, it is mostly monounsaturated, and is low in the essential fatty acids (EFAs). The Udo&#8217;s Choice Oil is higher in <strong>unrefined</strong> polyunsaturated oils with a good healthy balance of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids. </span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">There are several variations of the Udo&#8217;s Choice Oil, and one of them (labeled DHA 3-6-9 Blend) even contains a DHA algae oil blended into the mix along with organic flax oil, coconut oil, evening primrose oil, rice bran oil, oat germ and bran oil, and a few others. </span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Overall, blending Udo&#8217;s Oil with extra virgin olive oil makes nearly a perfect oil blend for salad dressings with a great taste and maximum health benefits.  If you can&#8217;t find Udo&#8217;s Choice Oil Blends (you can find Udo&#8217;s at almost any health food store), there are other EFA oil blends on the market&#8230;just make sure that they are COLD-processed to protect the EFAs.  You should never heat an EFA oil blend!</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;">Well, if you&#8217;ve been frustrated by that in the past, I have good news for you.</span><br />

<p><span style="color: #000000;">And today you&#8217;re going to discover how to choose the right workout finisher for your workouts.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Recently, while doing my own total body program 3 times a week, I chose a metabolic finisher that uses all the major muscle groups. I guess you can call it a total body metabolic finisher, but that is a lot of words. Finishers are getting a lot of buzz in the industry lately, and they should because they work.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">As you know, a metabolic finisher is a replacement for interval training and it uses incomplete recovery using short rest periods and most of the time, it uses all the major muscle groups. However, there are some finishers, at least when I write them, that focus a little more on the upper body or lower body. This brings up 2 questions:</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">1. How do I choose the right metabolic finisher based on the program I&#8217;m on for fat loss?</span><br />
<span style="color: #000000;"> 2. Seriously, how many licks of a tootsie roll pop does it take to get to the tootsie roll of tootsie roll pop?</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Keep in mind that the second question isn&#8217;t really that important, but was inspired by a t-shirt I saw at Target a few nights ago. That same shirt also inspired me to type this sentence as well as the last question. So, let&#8217;s forget about that and focus on number one:</span></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #000000;"><a href="http://www.dietingdetails.com/how-to-build-muscle-and-gain-weight-quickly-part-2/" target="_blank">How do you choose the right metabolic finisher?</a></span></strong></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Since I&#8217;m a TT trainer and I train myself as well as my clients of one of two ways of working out (total body or upper/lower split), that is how I will explain how to choose the right finisher. Let&#8217;s look at one a time:</span></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #000000;"><a href="http://www.dietingdetails.com/deadly-bodybuilding-myths-you-dont-know-part-1/" target="_blank">Choosing a Finisher on a Total Body Program</a></span></strong></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">If you&#8217;re on a total body workout 3 days a week, I would recommend a finisher that focuses on all major muscle groups. For instance, after your workout on Monday, you could do the &#8220;It&#8217;s Complexicated&#8221; finisher, which is a barbell circuit of Front Squats, Rows, Romanian Deadlifts and Military Presses.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">This hits all major muscle groups without over-stressing what you accomplished in your workout (just don&#8217;t add weight to the bar).</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Another good fit after a total body workout, especially if you are tight on time, is the Burpee/Chin-up combo. This is how that works:</span></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #000000;"><a href="http://www.dietingdetails.com/how-to-get-razor-sharp-abs-abdominal-exercise-program/" target="_blank">Do the following as shown:</a></span></strong></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Burpee/Chin-up Combo (8), rest 40 secs</span><br />
<span style="color: #000000;"> Burpee/Chin-up Combo (7), rest 40 secs</span><br />
<span style="color: #000000;"> Burpee Chin-up Combo (6), rest 30 secs</span><br />
<span style="color: #000000;"> Burpee Chin-up Combo (5), rest 30 secs</span><br />
<span style="color: #000000;"> Burpee Chin-up Combo (4), rest 20 secs</span><br />
<span style="color: #000000;"> Burpee Chin-up Combo (3), rest 20 secs</span><br />
<span style="color: #000000;"> Burpee Chin-up Combo (2), rest 10 secs</span><br />
<span style="color: #000000;"> Burpee Chin-up Combo (1), smile and have a protein shake</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;">This finisher takes just a few minutes, but you&#8217;ll see why it is so effective. You&#8217;ll be spent, and it&#8217;s a great metabolic finisher to choose when you don&#8217;t have much time. It also hits a lot of muscle.</span></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #000000;"><a href="http://www.dietingdetails.com/get-ripped-how-to-get-ripped-fast/" target="_blank">Boom goes the efficiency dynamite yet again.</a></span></strong></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">This is why it is so important to plan your workouts just like your nutrition. If you know you will be tight on time after a total body workout, then you need to have a finisher in place that you know takes just a few minutes.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">So to wrap it up &#8211; if you&#8217;re using 3 total body workouts per week, then choose a finisher based on time allowed and that hits your upper and lower body to compliment what you accomplished in the main workout, which was a good workout and getting shot down by the hottie on the treadmill. Yep, I saw that&#8230; and I typed it. And there&#8217;s nothing you can do about it &#8211; it&#8217;s my article and I can do what I want.</span></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #000000;"><a href="http://www.dietingdetails.com/how-to-get-a-six-pack-the-wrong-way/" target="_blank">What about metabolic total body workouts?</a></span></strong></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">If you&#8217;re performing a true metabolic workout, then you honestly don&#8217;t need a metabolic finisher. The intensity needed to perform that type of workout cannot be sustained long enough to perform a finisher on top of that. It&#8217;s kind of like when people say they did intervals for an hour&#8230; no you didn&#8217;t. Your intensity wasn&#8217;t high enough if you did intervals for an hour. That&#8217;s a whole new article, and thank you for the idea! (not you, I&#8217;m talking to my own head).</span></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #000000;"><a href="http://www.dietingdetails.com/top-49-things-i-learned-this-year/" target="_blank">Choosing a Finisher on an Upper/Lower Split Program</a></span></strong></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">You can still use a metabolic finisher, even when you are on an upper/lower split program. This where you will need to choose wisely. Let&#8217;s say you are on a program like this:</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Mon: Upper body</span><br />
<span style="color: #000000;"> Tue: Lower body</span><br />
<span style="color: #000000;"> Wed: Off</span><br />
<span style="color: #000000;"> Thu: Upper body</span><br />
<span style="color: #000000;"> Fri: Lower body</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">This is where it comes to your fitness level really. If you find yourself being able to recover really well between workouts, then you could actually choose a metabolic finisher that focuses more on the lower body after an upper body workout. This will target all muscle groups between the main workout and the finisher. For example, after your upper body workout, you could do the following finisher:</span></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #000000;"><a href="http://www.dietingdetails.com/learn-how-to-build-muscle-in-4-simple-steps/" target="_blank">The &#8220;Crossing Over to Stir the Pot&#8221; Finisher</a></span></strong></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Do the following superset 4 times, resting for 30 seconds between supersets</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">1A) Bodyweight Cross-Over Step-up (10 ea)</span><br />
<span style="color: #000000;"> 1B) Stir the Pot Exercise (5 in ea. direction)</span></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong><a href="http://www.dietingdetails.com/workoutfinishers" target="_blank"><span style="color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;">Cross-Over Step-up</span></a></strong></span></span></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;">As you can see, you will only be using bodyweight, so it&#8217;s not too much volume. This will allow you the intensity needed for your lower body workout the next day.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Another option, if you&#8217;re concerned for your recovery of your lower body, is to use a finisher that focuses on the upper body. This will add more volume to your upper body workout, but keep in mind that you will have 2 days of rest in between. Everyone is different. An upper body focused finisher could be a superset with little rest of push-ups and inverted rows.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Mike, you need to wrap this up. You&#8217;re getting long-winded. I love it when my head takes over and types stuff like that. It&#8217;s freaky, but cool.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Needless to say, you can apply the same principles to choosing a finisher after a lower body workout. Just always take your fitness level and recovery ability into account. Remember the 3 rules on choosing the finisher:</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">1. Time</span><br />
<span style="color: #000000;"> 2. Fitness level</span><br />
<span style="color: #000000;"> 3. Recovery ability</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">So, I hope this helps you out when you need to choose the right metabolic finisher after your workout. If not, well, that&#8217;s over 1,000 words I will never get back&#8230; kinda&#8217; like watching Transformers 2. That&#8217;s 90 minutes of my life I won&#8217;t get back.</span></p>
